Yes, you can use your existing jaxtr account to log into the iPhone application. Simply enter your existing login credentials at the first screen of the application after you download it.

If you have already used different credentials to login, you will need to remove and reinstall the application.

To make free calls:

• Use the jaxtr application on iPhone to start your call.
• Listen to the FreeConnect voice prompts.
• Stay on the phone and wait for your friend to call in. Jaxtr texts your friend an SMS notification with a local number to call in and get connected to you while you wait.

If you have purchased calling credits, choose the FreeConnect option at the voice prompt by pressing "0" and then "2".

Note that if your friend does not receive jaxtr's SMS notification, then you will need to inform your friend by other means (such as email, IM, or a direct call) of the local number to call to get connected to you (this number is sent to your email address). Jaxtr will not charge you for this service, but your phone company's normal charges still apply.

The FreeConnect option is available to call over 50 supported countries.

Because the current version of the jaxtr for iPhone application connects each call by placing a call to the jaxtr number closest to you ("closeness" determined based upon your phone number), you may incur roaming charges if you use this application outside of your home country. However, you could avoid roaming fees if you change your SIM card or get a new number when you are in a new country in which jaxtr has an access number, causing a new access number to be dialed.

Are free calls on jaxtr really free?

Yes, we don't charge you for calling a jaxtr number and for talk time using the FreeConnect option If you choose to connect directly and bypass FreeConnect, you will be charged our standard calling rates. Note that as always, your phone company normal charges still apply.

Will I start getting spam?

No, we hate spam too! We won't share your number without your permission and you can even hide your number from people that you call on jaxtr through your account privacy settings. And if you want to stop getting SMS or email notifications from us, simply make the appropriate selection on your account notification settings.

When using FreeConnect, my friend never calls in. Why?

When you start a FreeConnect call, jaxtr texts the friend you are calling an SMS notification with a local number to call in and get connected. If your friend does not receive the jaxtr SMS notification, then you will need to provide your friend with the time and local jaxtr number to call through other means such as email, IM, a direct call, etc.
